Pink Petoskey stones are very special, and this stone is spectacular. It has a faint hint of pink on the top half, which is from iron permeating the calcite during the calcification process. Set simply in sterling silver to best show off the stone, hangs from a 22" long adjustable sterling chain with a Petoskey stone dangle. The pendant measures 2.25" from top to bottom.

The Petoskey stone is the state stone of Michigan, and is a fossilized colonial coral that is about 350 million years old. We're so lucky to be able to walk the shores and find them hiding among the other Lake Michigan stones!
